Remember back in elementary school, when you'd carefully select a pack of Valentine's cards that accurately reflected your interests? (Amy was Team Berenstain Bears, all the way.) And then, after diligently following the class list to address said cards, you'd get to school and distribute them into the little decorated boxes on each person's desk? Was that just a 90s thing? Quick, is there a Gen Z-er around to help us out?

Well anyways, we're officially campaigning to bring those days back. Why should this holiday be limited to romantic relationships? Why not shower your friends and coworkers and acquaintances with some platonic affection? If you're here for it, check the list below for a few of our favorite, grownup, not-to-Valentine-y cards — complete with ideas for gift pairings!

LILAC THE WAY YOU MOVE CARD + THE 90'S JAZZ PLANTER

from Amy Zhang ($5) + Plantlandia ($45)

Perfect for any 90s hip-hop head, but especially one who also happens to be a plant enthusiast. The only thing better than an Outkast-inspired card is pairing it with this hilarious, nostalgic plant holder.

ALL YOU BREW COFFEE CARD + GUATEMALA NAHUALA COFFEE BEANS

from Amy Zhang ($5) + Mothership Coffee Roasters ($16.50)

It's (always) a great time of year to show a little appreciation, whether it's for a teacher, a parent, a neighbor who waters your plants when you're out of town... the list goes on. Stay on theme, and pair this card with specialty coffee! We found this tremendous little coffee shop on our first trip to Vegas years ago — this particular roast features all-female farmed beans, and is perfect for staying energized and warm through the endless winter months.

CHOWDAH THIS WORLD CARD + 20 OZ CERAMIC SOUP MUG

from Amy Zhang ($5) + Camilla's Collection Co ($64)

Show ‘em how much they mean to ya with this bowl ah chowdah to warm themselves up durin’ the wintah months. And ya know, it’d be rude to give ‘em a cahd with chowdah and not give ‘em a few bowls to eat out of.

ALL THAT AND DIM SUM CARD + DUMPLING CHOPSTICK RESTS

from Amy Zhang ($5) + Crane Living ($5 each)

Got a foodie in your life? Someone who constantly impresses you with their many talents? Both? This card pairs perfectly with a nice dinner out — or dining in with the cutest utensil rests ever.

YOU'RE A CLASSIC CARD + GREEN DAY, DOOKIE (30TH ANNIVERSARY)

from Amy Zhang ($5) + Green Day ($25)

For those friends who seem to know every song that plays on the radio, in the store, or at the bar. Pair this one with tickets to a concert, an excursion to your local record store, or an album tailored to their tastes. (It can be any album, obviously. We're just showcasing this one because it reminds Amy of the time she saw a comment on a Green Day YouTube video where the commenter bemoaned being "born in the wrong generation.")
